WHO WE ARE
CBI is a Bible College passionate about establishing the Kingdom of God – first in the hearts of our students, and then, through them, on earth. We are committed to helping each student, no matter their age, culture, country or occupation find their own peculiar destiny through an intimate relationship with God.
Our vibrant, multicultural approach to Christianity emphasizes relationship over religion and every student has an opportunity to find incredible freedom through developing a disciplined lifestyle aimed at pleasing God in thought, word and action.
The entire ethos of CBI is based on the Word of God which we firmly believe is entirely infallible and the only standard for Christians to live by. It is the core tenet of our faith. CBI exists to produce devoted disciples who love God with all their heart, soul and mind and live sacrificially for Him only.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that living wholeheartedly for God is the only way to enjoy a successful life. Jesus, as the Son of God chose to die on the Cross to provide everyone with the Saviour they so desperately need. Through Him, forgiveness and healing can be found. And, through the Holy Spirit, restoration can be found for everyone, no matter their history.
We live to worship Him exuberantly because we know Him personally and believe His Word can transform anyone who submits willingly to the process of transformation. That is our entire focus and aim – to see people uniting in Christ to bring transformation to their communities.
Every arena needs Christians who are willing to reflect Christ through their talents, work, home, and relationships in order to establish the Kingdom of God. We emphasise worship and the Word as powerful tools to accomplish this.
Our founder, Fiona Desfontaine, had a dramatic encounter with God in 1978 and subsequently dedicated her life to serving Him and discipling His people. CBI was founded in 1988 as a result of her ministry, with a student body of 27 people. We have grown since then into a vibrant three year college. Part time courses are available. Many of our graduates have left to serve in local and foreign churches, in varying leadership capacities, with some starting new churches.
WHAT WE HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH
We exist to disciple students into mature followers of Christ who are led by the Holy Spirit to minister effectively wherever they are called to in life. Our goal is to see whole, restored men and women making a godly difference in their generation, able to withstand all the pressures life brings and still live with joy and fulfilment, beacons of hope to the world around them.
"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
